Hi, I'm Warren Clarin. I was born and raised in Escalante, and like a lot of people here, I grew up hearing the old name — Manlambus — without really knowing its story. Before the map said Escalante, fisherfolk called this shore Manlambus, "to strike with a club," because the waters were once so full of fish that a wooden lambus was enough to make a catch. One of my favorite memories is my grandma taking me to the Manlambus Festival when I was young — first the street dancing, then the showdown at Escalante Elementary School.
I built manlambus.com because I wanted that story to be easy to find. When I searched for my hometown online, the history, the festival, and the best things to do were scattered — or missing entirely. This site puts them in one place.
It's also for visitors. Whether you're here for the Manlambus Festival on May 30th, a day out on the sandbars, or a lazy afternoon on a floating cottage, I want you to find what you need without guesswork — and to find the local owners and businesses who make those days possible.
And it's a personal project too. I studied IT at the State University of Northern Negros, and for more than nine years I've worked as a software engineer, building websites and apps, mostly for clients abroad. I built manlambus.com myself, the same way I build them for work — but this one is for home. This blog is where the site will keep growing, one story at a time.
Salamat sa pagbasa — and welcome to Manlambus.
